SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE; EXPERTISE AND/OR ABILITIES CONSISTENTLY REQUIRED:-
Demonstrable experience of accessing roofing for the purpose of conducting surveys showing extensive usage of risk assessment methodology for lone workers. Commercial acumen is essential as is the ability to understand customer requirements. Taking leadership at the surveying stage of REALM delivery with the ability to collate accurate site measurements and information in order to populate template reports for REALM colleagues. Presentation, communication, reporting writing, technical and customer focus competencies are essential. Clean driving licence and self organisation are also prime requirements.
- Demonstrable experience in a field engineer/surveying environment including working at heights
- Roofing and cladding industry experience
- Physical ability to erect and access all client sites using ladders/MEWPS, etc
- Identify and manage the key financial constraints within the survey.
- Achievement of cost-v-value reporting requirements.
- Prioritise, plan and conduct surveys in an effective manner to meet client requirements.
- Carry out methodical surveys of roofing and cladding systems, taking accurate measurements and photographic evidence, gathering accurate data on roof condition index (RCI)
- Gather core samples as and when required and reinstate roof after core sample has been taken.
- Interpret drawings and plans to assist in identifying and locating roof areas.
- Identify roof limits (i.e. fragile roofs, span criteria)
- Accurately identify existing roofing/cladding materials
- Complete detailed survey report and roof condition analysis.
- Liaise with clients as required.
- Ensure all information is processed and retained within REALM system.

Working Conditions
The role is predominantly lone working and wide ranging between client sites and service centres. This includes the need to attend wherever geographically necessary.
