This role can be based in any one of the company's 9 offices accross the UK.
This organisation is an independent and employee controlled environmental consultancy that is dynamic and fast-growing with an expanding network of offices in the UK and USA and an international client base.
This company is one of the fastest growing environmental consultancies in the UK. All of the companies senior managers and directors are fee earning and involved in directing key projects such that the emphasis in the company is on project delivery rather than management.
SYNOPSIS:
This organisation are looking for an ambitious individual who can establish and develop an Energy and Carbon Management Technical Discipline that builds upon the company's existing success in the Energy Business Sector. Their current presence in the Energy sector is diverse and has considerable potential for growth as synergies are realised between the various technical disciplines and geographical areas.
Areas of particular expertise include carbon capture and storage, geothermal energy, wind energy, oil & gas, thermal processes (EfW plants), biogas and the broader area of sustainability (including energy efficiency, BREEAM etc). There are also capabilities relating to solar power although they are not fully developed; and further development of the company’s offshore business is also in hand.
Much of the company’s energy related expertise is located in the UK and Irish operating companies although US operation has considerable expertise in oil and gas related sectors.
TECHNICAL SKILLS / ABILITIES
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in the management and development of an Energy business area (or equivalent) within a consultancy environment. This should incorporate strong technical and project delivery capabilities within a relevant area of energy consulting. Experience within other technical disciplines that the company works within, and the ability to integrate projects within these disciplines and cross-sell services is also highly desirable.
This candidate should also have the technical experience and knowledge to carry out energy-related project work, such as energy management strategies, feasibility assessments and energy audits, and should have proven project delivery skills.
The candidate should be a good, presentable communicator and experience in several business sectors would be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS / PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP STATUS
MSc and/or recognised energy-related qualification preferred but not essential
